Technique for drug administration through microspheres in suspension

ABSTRACT
Objective: To evaluate clinical effectiveness of a new technique for application of the hormonal therapy with microspheres on suspension drugs. Patients and methods: In a prospective and comparative study carried out in Angeles Hospital of Querétaro, were supplemented 30 patients with progesterone made with microspheres on suspension, who voluntary accepted with previously signed informed consent. The dose of 200 mg of Prosphere® was repeated every week until the gestation reached 12 weeks. There were two groups: A (n = 15) with common technique of application and B (n = 15) with the new technique. Follow up visits included clinical examinations every week, to try to find symptoms or local vs systemic reactions. Results: Demography and nutritional characteristics were similar on both groups and vitality of pregnancies until the 12 weeks, was observed at 100%. With the common technique (group A) 87% had persistent local pain and 20% a local lesion. The pain with the new technique (group B) was transitory and there not been any local reactions. Conclusions: The new propose technique, were better than the common technique around the clinical effectiveness, and may be it can improve the attachment to the hormonal treatment with the new microspheres on suspension drugs.REFERENCES
