Anomalias del Epidídimo y Apéndices Testiculares, Asociadas a Criptorquidia como Elementos Clínicos de Disgenesia Testicular.

ABSTRACT
Introduction: The anomalies that are associated with cryptorchidism are: anomalies of the epididymis, processus vaginalis persistence and testicular appendices. The anomalies of the epididymis can interfere with the fertility in spite of the presence of normal germinal cells.
Material and Methods: Patient treated for orquidepexy from january 1st. 2004 thru january 2007. The Orquidopexy was made with the conventional technique. The epididymis and the testis were carefully inspected and if some anomaly appeared.
Results: The anomalies of epididymis were the following: Type B: 20 cases (RF of 0,4444); Type C: 9 cases (RF of 0,20); D Type: 10 cases (RF of 0,2222); Type E: 5 cases (RF of 0,1111); F type 1 case (RF 0,0222). The testicular appendices were in 3 cases a single testicular appendix, (RF 0,0666). 40 cases; 2 appendices (RF 0,8888); in 2 cases the appendices were multiple (5 and 4 appendices) (RF of 0,0444). In 95% of the cases patent processus vaginalis existed.
Conclussion: From the clinical point of view in the cryptorchidism testis studied here, three elements appeared associated strongly to testicular dysgenesis. These anomalies associated to cryptorchidism in more of 90% of the studied patient’s raises the following hypothesis: ¿ the known disease of criptorchidism must be consider a “criptorchidism syndrome”, that it is accompanied by testicular foetal dysgenesis?.
