ABSTRACT
With the development of mass medium communication, the first answer when looking for information is the Internet. These pages show different health topics, including burns. Nevertheless, the quality or content which given about these kinds of injuries is unknown. Therefore, the information patients are provided with and their point of view is unknown. The objective of this paper was to review 100 burn related Internet pages in English as well as Spanish, in order to analyze it and classify it. Most of the pages show simple and non-professional information related to burns. The quality of the content of the pages was average to deficient. Plastic Surgery and burn organizations must provide certified information to the sites which can be found on the web and thus to those who search for it on the Internet. This can benefit the patient-doctor relationship instead of causing problems by getting wrong information via Internet.
