Strategies for to decrease the intrahospital mother mortality at the State of Mexico

ABSTRACT
Actually the fact that the mother mortality topic continue in the world denotes that the death of the women during pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium is problem even not been solved. The State of Mexico meets between among in the states with major mother mortality, the principal reasons are the hypertensive complications of the gestation, followed of hemorrhages during the pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium. To affect in a direct way of this problem, we created strategies conceived under the concept of Investigation Unit in Obstetric Critical Medicine.
Objective: To decrease the intrahospital mother mortality.
Material and methods: It is a summary of results of three strategies: the first, welfare, we establishing criteria of revenue and implemented a protocol denominated «TOLUCA»; education, creating the Program of Critical Obstetric Medicine, specializing, by means of model based in intensive care, and investigation, with an Experts Committee and the creation of investigation laboratory.
Results: Thirty two doctors training, eight residents, 70 works, 13 chapters and 10 published books, and reduction of intrahospital mother mortality more than 10 per cent established.
Conclusion: Critical Obstetric Medicine links hospital strategies to decrease the mother mortality across assistance, teaching and investigation.
