ABSTRACT
BackgroundRhinoplasty technique described by most authors are applied to leptorrhine nose, characteristic of European nose, which have little or null success in the platyrrhine or mesorrhine nose, because in the first one reduction and deletion techniques are applied, and in the second ones, increasing and elevation techniques are applied.
Objective
To provide an alternative of surgical solution offering adequate results in patients with mesorrhine or platirrhine nose.
Material and methods
We used the pre and postoperatory photo records from 2,728 patients. In all case the same surgical technique was used with variations related to case’s size and severity.
Results
In two cases in which cardinal points did not were placed sinking in the insertion points of the inferior lateral cartilages at nasal wing level was noticed. In one case in which anterior elonged trapezoidal graft was not placed, there was not an adequate definition of the nasal tip.
Conclusions
It is possible to define, align and rotate the nasal tip in the cases that the dorsum is required to be elevated with this technique. It is also useful to considerably augment the tissue resistance for providing an excellent structural support to column-wing-nasal tip complex because the grafts are thin enough, movement and elasticity are not lost.
