ABSTRACT
Nutritional intervention and physical exercise, are the cornerstone for the treatment of overweight and obesity, which presently have acquired epidemic proportions. The treatment used nowadays is known as medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and requires the setting of goals, by the patient and professional caregiver, as part of the multidisciplinary team. In the following article, step by step processes of MNT are shown to successfully control the patient with overweight or obesity in order to reduce the risk of complications.
