ABSTRACT
Medicine has a significant influence in fiction literature. This essay emphasizes the association of the contemporary practice of medicine and the narrative work of Joanne K. Rowling´s novels. It shows passages of her novels in which she talks about the different medical specialties and its performers. Medicine is an indispensable element for the construction of fictitious worlds, and the physician’s personality shown in Harry Potter´s novels is almost the same that professionals perform in real life.
