ABSTRACT
Objective: To establish conceptual differences between the word «abortion» and the concept «voluntary termination of the pregnancy» in the field of bioethics. This work tries to justify the use of the concept «voluntary termination of the pregnancy» instead of the word «abortion» in bioethics. This would be due to, if an abortion is spontaneous, there are no special bioethical considerations. On the other hand, in bioethics when somebody talks about «abortion», it is related with the volunteer character of the termination of a pregnancy to have special considerations.
