ABSTRACT
Acoustic neuroma is the most frequent tumor of the pontocerebellosum angle (90%), affects more to women, being more frequent between the 50 and 60 years of age. When an opportune diagnosis is not made, it grows in the interior of the internal auditory conduit and it extends to the ponto-cerebellar angle, and in extreme cases it compresses the cerebral trunk. They must generally be extracted surgically or its growth evaluated in a periodic form.
