Presacral teratoma. Clinical findings

ABSTRACT

Introduction. Sacrococcygeal teratoma is a rare fetal tumor usually diagnosed antenatally and considered benign with no functional impairment. Several clinical varieties have been described one of which is the presacral teratoma, considered as a sacrococcygeal teratoma. However presacral teratoma is not an external tumor, it is hereditary and urinary retention and constipation are its main manifestations.
Material and methods. The authors present their experience with three male and two female infants with a presacral teratoma.
Conclusions. Clinical course is different from that of sacrococcygeal teratomas.
