ABSTRACT
Pediatric emergencies such as dental trauma, infection, and accidental or intentional injuries are frequent. Pediatricians can provide first stomatological aid, oral health promotion and prevention, thereby eliminating or delaying buco-dental disease and the need for treatment in the very young. However, effective and appropriate treatment of stomatological emergencies by pediatric primary care clinicians are possible if they receive appropriate training for the treatment of buco-dental emergencies. Pediatrician’s ability to recognize and deal with dental emergencies depends on their training, their experience and the available equipment.
The aim of this paper is to provide the pediatrician information on how to treat dental stomatologic emergencies in children seen at their office.
