ABSTRACT

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most important clinical problems in pediatric population at present, and is one that for several years has been acquiring relevancy in adult population. It is known that ADHD is a problem that does not disappear, and that it continues to demonstrate clinical consequences throughout the entire life of the individual. An adult with ADHD has a major risk of presenting a significant deterioration in work performance and in the family environment, in comparison with those who without ADHD. Some authors think that an adult with this disorder requires integral treatment, as well as information and family orientation.
