ABSTRACT
We report a 39 years old man, with hypertension and chronic renal failure in treatment with hemodyalisis. He has had a central venous catheter (Mahurkar) for two years. He came to the ICU after a surgical procedure (Renal Transplantation). We recognize a Superior Venous Cava Syndrome because of facial edema, neck edema, venous network on anterior thorax and bilateral arm edema. X ray thorax showed a wide mediastinum. We made an angiography and it showed an obstruction of superior cava venous. Angioplasty was made with two consecutive insufflations. Two days after an endoprotesis was placed at stenosis level. Permeability of cava system was achieved.REFERENCES
