ABSTRACT
Many physiologic changes in cardiopulmonary interactions have been attributed to mechanical ventilation. Positive pressure is responsible of both beneficent and deleterious effects of mechanical ventilation. Severe Cardiac changes can be ameliorated lowering median airway pressure, but if it is not possible, adequate intravascular volume with fluid replacement must be achieved. In some cases inotropic and vasoactive amines could be used in order to improve cardiac performance and blood pressure.
