Laser treatment for vascular wounds

ABSTRACT

Vascular skin lesions are a challenge for the dermatologist and the plastic surgeon .Vascular lesions in visible areas represent a stigma for patients. Nowadays the arrival of laser and its perfection permits treating ambulatory patients in a non ablative way, improving the patients' quality of life. The objective of this paper is to present our experience at Médica Sur Hospital in the Laser Integral Clinic, from October 2001 to December 2004. 564 patients were treated with pulsed light dye laser (VBeam), with the principle of selective phototermolysis. The analysis of pathologies treated and the results are presented.
