ABSTRACT
Although are a fearful event for the parents, the febrile seizures are a benign entity. Several extensive investigations have been done about its physiopathology and its treatment, and is until now that we harvest the results: there is drawing a genetic, neurologic and inflammatory axis. Despite the benign outcome for this disease, physicians are encouraged to recognize the risk factors and make the correct differential diagnosis —and thus, decreasing the onset or misdiagnosis of other entities—, because in this entity by now is only defined by the clinics, not by the laboratory nor technique, we should know its clinical and therapeutic importance so we can provide better orientation to the family.
