ABSTRACT
The performance of functional skills requires very complex and selective patterns of muscular coordination. This depend on an intact central nervous system and a fully development background of basics motor patterns suchs as the normal child acquires during the first three years of life. The child of cerebral palsy has a brain damage and, shows abnormal patterns of coordination of posture and the movement must be stopped first and promote the early and basics motor patterns such as of head control. Righting reaction serve the following function: 1. They maintain the head in the normal position in space. 2. They keep the head and neck in alignment with the trunck. 3. They restore the normal position of head and trunck when any part of the body surface touches the ground, for instance on contact. 4. They make possible rotation within the body axis given the child the ability, for instance, to turn over from supine. 5. They make possible postural orientation and adjusted by vision. The equilibrium reactions are automatic compensatory movements making balance and postural adaptaction possible, although slight disturbances of the centre of gravity may produce only invisible changes of tone throughout the body.REFERENCES
