ABSTRACT
The intertrochanteric fracture to take up 60% traumatic pathology of the hip. Material and methods. Prospective, longitudinal, observational and descriptive study of 80 patients to intervene quirurgically with the proximal femoral nail. During a year and a half, the range that followed 36 months. Results. Twenty eight female (35%), 52 masculine (65%), the age average rank 39 – 93 years. The prevalence the accidents in the home was 40 patients (50%), 25% public via, 15% in the place recreation and 10% in the work center. Consolidation was achieved in all of them, the 85% return to work and the 5% left presented complications. Discussion. We considered that the proximal femoral nail is an effective choice for this lesion treatment.
