ABSTRACT
The objective of the present study was to evaluate the nematophagous capacity of two
Duddingtonia flagrans strains: one native from France, and another one from Mexico. Three groups of 17 Petri dishes each containing corn fluor-agar media were organized. Each strain was cultured in the dishes of two of the groups; those of the third group served as the control one. Petri dishes of the three groups included 150
Panagrellus redivivus larvae/dish. Five days later they were quantified to evaluate larval reduction percentage. Both strains showed significant reductions (P ‹0.05) as compared with the control group. Mexican and French strains exhibited reductions of 98.9% and 97.7%, respectively.
