ABSTRACT
Addressing the lack of information of the undergraduate development this study describes the characterization and labor of the veterinarian having finished undergraduate studies at the Autonomous University of Baja California in a ten year period of analyses through a direct survey. A sample of the study was followed by an aleatory random, so that 43.5% of the population was studied. The hypotheses that lead this study expressed that the veterinarian started working as soon as he/she had finished. It is noteworthy that they are natives from the State of Baja California, Sonora and Sinaloa, and aged between 25 an 32 years old, in a proportion of 3 men per woman, married, and with a home in the city. Their fathers work in the tertiary sector (services) and their mothers at home. The studied population presented a more recent trend where there is a greater incorporation of veterinarians in the primary sector (agriculture and husbandry), and in the tertiary, namely, government, education, commerce, technical areas and health. The desire to emigrate is minimum. Their theoretical-practical formation was balanced to support all the needed functions and labor. The study infraestructure was qualified as regular as well as the sociopolitical, economical and cultural formation. It is concluded positively that their incorporation affects the economical sectors, and their labor relates to their professional formation.
