Efecto de la somatotropina recombinante bovina sobre el crecimiento de híbridos de tilapia a diferentes temperaturas

RESUMEN
Se administró somatotropina recombinante bovina (STRB) por vía intramuscular a 72 tilapias híbridas (
Oreochromis mossambicus x O. niloticus), divididas en 6 lotes de 3 peces cada uno, con 4 réplicas por lote, en dosis crecientes de 0 µ g /g de peso (lote testigo) a 7.55 µ /g. La dosis más eficaz para mejorar el crecimiento de los peces fue de 5 µ g/g. Posteriormente se utilizaron 360 tilapias híbridas con peso promedio de 14 ± 2.7 g que se separaron en 4 grupos de 30 peces c/u, con tres réplicas por lote y tratados de la siguiente manera: grupo 2a con una sola dosis de 5µ g/g de STRB por vía intramuscular y con temperatura controlada entre 22° y 24°C; grupo 2a testigo, al que se le administró una sola dosis de 0.2 ml/pez de aceite de ajonjolí por vía intramuscular y con la misma temperatura que el anterior; grupo 2b que recibió una sola dosis de 5µ g/g de STRB por la misma vía y temperatura controlada entre 25° y 27°C; grupo 2b testigo, al que se le administró una sola dosis de 0.2 ml/pez de aceite de ajonjolí por vía intramuscular y con la misma temperatura que el lote 2b. El experimento duró 8 semanas y se observó que los grupos tratados con STRB tuvieron un crecimiento estadísticamente significativo (P‹ 0.01) mayor que los grupos testigos a semana, aunque el consumo de alimento fue mayor en los grupos tratados que en los testigos. Cuando se contrastaron los efectos de la temperatura sobre la ganancia de peso, no hubo diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre los dos rangos utilizados, existiendo mayor mortalidad en el grupo testigo.
