Langerhans cells in goats skin were identified ultrastructuraly according to their morphology and the presence of the characteristic Langerhans or Birbeck granules. These granules were not numerous and the presence of the typical "tennis racquet" organelles described in human Langerhans cells was rarely observed in goats epidermis. Langerhans cells in goats epidermis were mostly found in a basal and siuprabasal position and in samples of the lumbar region in the middle part of the skin. Identification of Langerhans cells in goats skin is important, as these cells are involved in cutaneous immunological reactions due to their antigen presenting properties.
