FRAGMENTO
Las células de Langerhans de la piel constituyen una subpoblación morfológicamente bien caracterizada en la epidermis y dermis de los mamíferos. Estas células son de origen mesenquimal, provienen de la médula ósea y se consideran pertenecientes a la serie monocítica-fagocítica, representando la parte más superficial del sistema inmune.
En la epidermis, las células se distribuyen ampliamente desde el estrato basal al espinoso. Los procesos dendríticos de las células se extienden hasta el estrato córneo. En la dermis las células de Langerhans se distribuyen al azar y al parecer están en continuo tránsito a nódulos linfoides.
