ABSTRACT
Introduction: The Positron Emission Tomography (PET) follows a continuous implementation process world wide for the obvious and clear benefits it sup-plies to the imaging diagnosis. From the clinical point of view, we may attain into an unreachable field for other imaging techniques, such as the functional aspect of illnesses like oncological, neurological and cardio. Conclusion: Technically, we may note that PET is a noble diagnostic tool, easy to use, cost-efficient and that using the basic principles of radiological safety, it may be carried out whatever times considered necessary by the treating doctor, previous valuation of risk-benefit together with the Nuclear Doctor. The great senstivenes of tomographers to detect minimum amounts of compounds thanks to the positrons presence in its composition, places the technical PET in a privilege position regarding other diagnostic disciplines.
