ABSTRACT

The relation between pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary cancer has been established, unlike other types of cancer, about which isolated cases have been reported. The renal cell carcinoma frequently appears with paraneoplastic manifestations, although never like interstitial pulmonary fibrosis. In turn, the single association with extrapulmonary neoplasms has been made as well in isolated form. This is a case of a patient who presented with interstitial pulmonary fibrosis, and died by complications related to the pulmonary pathology, and as a finding in the study of autopsy, multicentric renal cell carcinoma was found; the possible association is analyzed.
