ABSTRACT
The electroencephalogram (EEG) is a neurophysiologic technique that can be a lot of aid in the registration of the cerebral electric activity. The neonatal EEG is one of the few objective methods that explores the functional integrity of the immature cerebral cortex and its connections and becomes a powerful tool for the clinical knowledge of the cerebral development in the neonatal period, as well as to clear unknown as cerebral dysfunctions, cerebral malformations, hemorrhages, cerebral heart attacks, among others epileptic encephalopathies.
