ABSTRACT
Ten boys between one and three years of age were treated because of 14 hips with DDH. This conservative method consisted on the use of a progressive auto-reduction harness for four months, followed by minimal adductor release surgery and a plaster cast in a security position for another four months. Afterwards a following four months period of a 24 hours Farill abduction splint was installed, followed by a final another 12 hour-a-day four more months with the same splint. Results were good in 87.5% of the cases. Initial acetabular index was 27-30 degrees, compared to less than 20 degrees after treatment.
