ABSTRACT
A 22 year old woman presented to the ER with a four day history of cough and progressive hemoptysis, up to 500 mL a day. Chest x-rays, CT scan and an arteriogram showed an anterior cystic mediastinal mass in contact with the right upper lobe, with systemic irrigation coming from the right internal mammary artery and lung blushing by contrast media; massive hemoptysis persisted despite a coil embolized to the culprit vessel and the patient was rushed to surgery. The resected specimen included the tumor and a wedge of the anterior segment of the upper lobe; the final diagnosis was benign mature teratoma fistulized into hemorrhagic lung.REFERENCES
