ABSTRACT
As it occurs for other techniques, diverse fixing procedures there exist for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction by semitendinosus and gracilis tendons, such as staples, endoboutton, transcondilar screw, post-screw, direct suture and others. However, at starting of the present series, almost nothing had been published in our country about fixation by interferential screws which is also an available technique. Through the second trimester of 1996, 10 cases were arthroscopically operated on by interferential screw fixation for semitendinosus-gracilis anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. Patients were assessed after 4, 8 and 12 weeks, as well as after 3, 6, 12 and 24 months. Overall good results were obtained in 60 % of the whole patients.
