The use of a new plate for treatment of cervical discarthrosis

ABSTRACT

Between September 14, 1998 and September 10, 1999 forty patients with cervical disc herniations with associated radiculopathy in CIMA Hospital in Chihuahua City were treated by anterior discectomy and interbody fusion, using autogenus iliac graft and a new cervical plate which was designed by the second author. This new plate offer more advantages than others. Patients ranged in age from 17 to 73 years (average 46 years). Seventeen males (42.5%) and 23 females (57.5%). Excellent results were obtained in all cases. complications were minimal.
