ABSTRACT

We report a case of advanced pharyngolaryngeal carcinoma. The patient underwent pharyngooesophageal reconstruction with free jejunal graft transfer after a total circular pharyngolaryngeal resection and bilateral radical neck dissections. The patient had a satisfactory postoperatory recovery achieving total functional rehabilitation two weeks after surgery. A critical review of the literature concerning general aspects about hypopharyngeal cancer and pharyngoesophageal reconstruction techniques was made, highlighting the jejunal graft transfer technique.
