ABSTRACT
Carboplatin, analogue of platinum in a useful antitumoral drug for neoplasms of lung, ovary, bladder, etc. This drug can induce many side effects, like thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, anemia and neuropathies. Their administration has been associated to hypersensitivity reactions (8% to 16% of cases). In this study, we present three cases, two from ovary and one from breast, which developed several degrees of hypersensitivity reactions. We registered data of another six patients also with side effect. In this report, we discus the risk, morbility and mortality related to hypersensitivity reactions by carboplatin, as well as strategies for treatment and prevention of this events.
