ABSTRACT
The secondary abdominal pain to appendicitis was described for the first time
in 1736 and is at the moment a frequent diagnosis in medical practice representing
the main cause of the surgical acute abdomen. Originated initially by an increase
in the pressure of appendices, which increases its mucous secretion and triggers
the pathophysiology, occur mainly during the second and third decade of the
life. The appendicitis diagnosis is fundamentally clinical, whereas its quick
resolution this directly related to I foretell and the recovery of the patient.
The study with greater sensitivity and specificity is the tomography. Next a
brief revision of the most relevant aspects of the disease is made.
