ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the microleakage of four root-end filling materials. Forty-two single canal root extracted human teeth were cleaned and shaped. Each tooth was apically resected an the apex was prepared ultrasonically. The teeth were divided into 4 groups of 10 roots each and filled with PRO ROOT®, Super-EBA®, CPM® MEDIX and CPM® EGEO. Positive and negative controls were used. Apical leakage was determined using ink. The teeth were demineralized and transparent and the amount of dye microleakage was measured using a stereoscopic microscope at 20X magnification. Statistical analysis showed that Super-EBA®, CPM® EGEO and PRO ROOT® leaked significantly less than CPM® MEDIX.
