ABSTRACT
Introduction: The Utstein Style gives us a set of guidelines to acquire the essential and desirable data while treating patients with cardiac arrest. Objective: To design a data registry for in-hospital cardiorespiratory arrest according to the Utstein style recommended in the latest International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) consensus. Methods: A developmental, prospective investigation. The data registry for cardiorespiratory arrest (CPR) was designed according to the Utstein style, and subsequently validated through expert consultation applying the Delphi method. Results: A data record was designed for the CRP composed of 4 categories, which include a total of 42 variables related to the patient, prior to the CRP event, during the CRP process and those related to the results of the maneuver of the cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The design of this registry for the Cienfuegos General University Hospital “Dr. Gustavo Aldereguía Lima” makes it possible to organize the collection of information related to in-hospital cardiorespiratory arrest, as well as comprehensive care for patients with CRP. Conclusions: A data registry is designed for the in-hospital cardiorespiratory arrest that allows the homogeneous collection of information in each event. Through the registry, the recommended variables will be obtained, which will allow intra- and inter-hospital comparisons and will support national and international research.REFERENCES
