ABSTRACT
Introduction: follicular thyroid carcinoma corresponds to 15% of cases, causing bone metastasis in 2 to 13%. Case report: a 62-year-old female with a history of goiter, with total thyroid resection, presented neck pain caused by a lytic lesion in the axis, for which posterior occipital-cervical fixation was performed. Ten months later, she presented quadriparesis; an MRI showed a destructive lesion invading the medullary canal, as well as displacement of the trachea and esophagus. Partial resection of the lesion was performed, and a diagnosis of metastasis of follicular thyroid carcinoma was performed.REFERENCES
