ABSTRACT
The most frequent cause of mortality worldwide is due to coronary heart disease; Therefore, early diagnosis and treatment of acute myocardial infarction is necessary. High-sensitivity troponins are the cardiac biomarkers with the best negative predictive value (95%), therefore they facilitate the early exclusion of acute myocardial infarction with the aim of reducing hospital stay and death. Troponins are a tool that facilitates clinical decision-making in patients with chest pain, so implementing protocols will facilitate decision-making as they will allow us to better stratify the risk beyond a definitive diagnosis. However, the big problem is of these studies is the lack of clinical judgment, considering that the degree of recommendation must be improved, it is appropriate to consider the use of risk scores according to the guidelines of each workplace. Before applying a protocol in your hospital, it is important to know the troponin used in your central laboratory.
