High-definition suction-assisted abdominal lipomarcation

ABSTRACT
Introduction: High-definition lipomarcation consists in the development of techniques that allow obtaining an anatomical and athletic surface in people who maintain a good physical condition and seek to achieve this figure.
Objective: To determine the outcomes of high-definition liposuction to highlight the abdominal contour.
Methods: A prospective study was carried out within the plastic surgery and caumatology service of the Hermanos Ameijeiras Clinical Surgical Hospital. Suction-assisted liposuction was used for fat removal and high-definition liposuction. Intraoperative data were collected and the techniques used in three cases operated on with the use of the technique were recorded. Postoperatively, photographs were taken and data were collected.
Case presentation: A 32-year-old female patient, and two male patients aged 35 and 47 years, repetitively, with body mass index less than 30 kg/m2. All patients underwent liposuction with high-definition marking in the abdominal region. The average follow-up time was twelve months and no complications occurred.
Conclusions: Suction-assisted high-definition lipomarcation is a safe procedure in selected patients. It allows achieving high satisfaction rates for both the patient and the surgeon. However, despite its reproducibility and low complication rate, it requires a learning curve. Adequate and strict follow-up of postsurgical recommendations by the patients and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are necessary to ensure the lasting success of the procedure.
