ABSTRACT
Introduction: In the last ten years, mastopexy with breast implants has been an object of attention and study. When the inverted T-closure is used in this procedure, the purpose is to obtain better projection and filling of the breast upper pole.
Objective: To assess the outcomes of treatment of grades I and II breast ptosis with endoprosthesis using the technique of mastopexy with inverted T-closure.
Methods: A descriptive, prospective and longitudinal study was carried out in 20 women who presented breast ptosis and who attended the plastic surgery service of Hermanos Ameijeiras Clinical-Surgical Hospital, between September 2015 and February 2019. They underwent augmentation mastoplasty with endoprosthesis placement and mastopexy technique with inverted T-closure using the fixed reference points of the Wise mold. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data processing.
Results: The average age was 30.3 ± 4.7 years. 55 % of patients were classified as having grade I breast ptosis. The volume used was significantly associated with the degree of ptosis (P=0.0000˂0.05). The use of implants smaller than 350 cc of high profile predominated. 99 % of patients had good aesthetic outcomes and only one complication occurred (5 %).
Conclusions: Breast ptosis was corrected in 100 % of the cases, achieving good aesthetic results and few complications.
