Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) is a potentially fatal pathology, present in 2-4% of the population over 50 years of age. Angiotomography (CTA) allows localization of AAA, determines its length, the involvement of visceral branches and flow characteristics. Currently CTA is used to plan endovascular treatment. Treatment depends on the size and location of the aneurysm, age, renal function and other conditions. Aneurysms smaller than five centimeters in diameter are usually monitored by ultrasound or CT every six to 12 months. Surgical treatment is recommended in aneurysms with a diameter greater than 5 centimeters; the risk of rupture is four times higher in women. As a cultural fact of interest, the physicist Albert Einstein died of AAA rupture on April 18, 1955.
