ABSTRACT
Introduction: ossicular chain agenesis is rare (0.5 to 1.2%), secondary to maldevelopment of the first and second pharyngeal arches in weeks 3 to 10 of gestation. Clinical case: 22-year-old female with conductive hearing loss in the left ear. On examination: normal auricles and tympanic membranes, absent ipsilateral stapedial reflex, normal right Audiometry normal in right ear (RE) and ascending profile curve, due to severe hearing loss, conductive in left ear (LE). Tomography showed agenesis of the long process of the incus and of the left stapes, the footplate present. Conclusion: patient with transmission hearing loss due to agenesis of the stapes suprastructure.REFERENCES
