Eosinophils: Review of the literature

ABSTRACT
The eosinophil is a small type of white blood cells derived from the bone marrow it´s circulatory life span 6 to 12 hours before it migrates into tissues, keeping some days there. The development in the bone marrow is stimulated by interleukin 5, interleukin 3, and granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) it is characteristic nucleus is bilobed and its content of cytoplasmic granules is distinctive, these proteins are responsible for many of the proinflammatory functions, mainly in the pathogenesis of allergic diseases as an effector cell in immediate hypersensibility as soon as in parasite killing. The eosinophils interact with other cells by the expression of many different surface receptors.
