ABSTRACT
Purpose/Context. A theoretical reflection on the conditions of the bioethical hermeneutics
of space and the configuration of territorialities was carried out in order to
highlight the way in which human actions, through science and technology, recreate
vital dynamics that transform the diverse forms of appropriation of space and establish
relationships with other forms of life.
Methodology/Approach. The methodology implemented consisted in the review
of available literature in databases, taking as search syntax the categories of: territory,
space, bioethics, territorialities, geography, territory and Latin American bioethics.
These categories were integrated from the use of Boolean codes as well as the implementation
of some controlled language parameters. The results obtained were
filtered based on the pertinence of the content and implemented as support for the
development of the hermeneutic proposal. At the end of the information selection
process, the structuring of theoretical axial models was carried out and from these the
conceptual proposal was configured.
Results/Findings. Talking about the territory from a social bioethical approach is a
challenge nowadays since Bioethics still presents a greater volume in its academic
production around health issues. However, it is important to look for ways in which
the bioethical paradigm can create new ways of thinking about the territory.
Discussion/Conclusions/Contributions. Bioethical territorialities can contribute to
the systematization of different ways of inhabiting a place under the premises of
respect and care for life, so creating a hermeneutic methodological route that allows
mapping the territory is key to broaden the debate on the impact achieved by the
implementation and development of technoscience in the vital spaces that humanity
cohabits with other organisms.
