ABSTRACT
Asperger's syndrome, classified within the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a neurodevelopmental condition that significantly
affects people's social and communication skills. This paper describes the case of a 16-year-old adolescent diagnosed with ASD who
presented clinically significant symptoms of separation anxiety, difficulties in verbal expression, poor academic performance, selfharm
and inappropriate sexual behavior. The treatment was carried out through individual sessions of psychodynamic therapy in
which the behavioral difficulties mentioned above were addressed. During the sessions special emphasis was placed on the strengthening
of personal resources that promote an adaptive affective-sexual development. After one year of psychotherapy, an increase in
academic performance, a decrease in anxiety symptoms and a significant increase in the patient's level of autonomy were observed.
