ABSTRACT
Pyogenic granuloma has an incidence of 21% of tumor lesions. Clinically it presents as an exophytic, smooth or lobulated nodule, usually asymptomatic and frequently exhibiting a pedunculated base and varying in color from pinkish red to purple. This article describes a 39-year-old male patient with an increase in the volume of the gingival tissue in the anteroinferior area, who underwent surgical excision and histopathological analysis was diagnosed as pyogenic granuloma. The treatment of choice for this lesion consists of surgical excision with curettage of the underlying tissue, however, it presents a recurrence rate of 15.8%.
