ABSTRACT
Characteristic of medical personal associate with use of laboratory test in an emergency service.
Objective. To know the associate factors with medical personal in the utilization and utility of laboratory test.
Design. Prospective, cross sectional, descriptive.
Measurements. A total of 83 expedients were evaluated by a period of 2 months. The medical variables to consider was age, sex, turn, specialty, antiquity and time from their graduation.
Results. The woman medics solicitude smaller laboratory test and it have better utility in the treatment p ‹ 0.01, the nocturnal shift request greater tests and the diurnal shift interpreting more and they have more actions of diagnostic and treatment p ‹ 0.001, the family physician solicitude more test with minimal utility for diagnostic and treatment. The labour antiquity was association with more utility therapeutic p = 0.002.
Conclusions. The recording, interpretation and diagnostic and treatment utility respect to solicitude of laboratory test in the emergency department is low and exist many factors to related to medical personal.
