Method: An observational, descriptive and cross-sectional research was carried out to implement an approach to blended teaching. The universe was composed of eight students from the specialty of Hygiene and Epidemiology at Santiago de Cuba, in accordance with the readjustment directed by the Ministries of Higher Education and Public Health of Cuba, at times of COVID-19.
Results: In the methodology used, Information and Communication Technologies tools were used, based on the previous knowledge of students and teachers of these tools. On-site and virtual activities of the module content were programmed, even though it was not possible to use the Virtual Classroom at the University of Medical Sciences due to various reasons, resulting in a blended modality with the support of Information and Communication Technologies. At the end of the module, an anonymous satisfaction survey was applied. Conclusions: This modality turned out to improve the quality of the educational teaching process as objectives and contents of the program were not affected.
The survey respondents as well as the faculty teaching staff were satisfied and motivated; as a result, the decision was to continue the path initiated, improve it and extend it to other modules of the specialty.
