ABSTRACT
The most common flies worldwide causing furuncular cutaneous myiasis are
Dermatobia hominis and
Cordylobia anthropophaga. Clinically this disea-se manifests nodular lesions containing a central pore, and sometimes the larva protrudes from the central opening. It is a disease typical of tropicalareas, however it can also be seen in temperate zones in tourists and immigrants. Here we describe a case of furuncular myiasis imported from Peru.
