ABSTRACT

Recently much interest has focused on idiopathic left ventricular tachycardia. Belhassen considered the appearance of right bundle branch block with left axis deviation pattern to be one of the most distinguishing traits of this tachycardia. It is well known that there are some patients who have this type of ventricular tachycardia and whose underlying heart disease cannot be detected by conventional noninvasive and invasive methods. Although considerable attention has been paid to the mechanism of this particular ventricular tachycardia, it still remains to be elucidated. Radiofrequency catheter ablation in idiopathic ventricular tachycardia has shown excellent initial results, but less is known about the long term results. We describe the electrocardiographic and electrophysiologic characteristics of this ventricular tachycardia.
