ABSTRACT
FAST-HUG is a sequenced checklist of basic procedures used in intensive care patients, which has gained momentum internationally, where each letter recalls an intervention to be performed, which influences the evolution and prognosis of patients. We propose a mnemonics for the spanish language, to highlight the essential aspects in the general care of the critical patient; "sangüiche por dia" which includes sedation, analgesia, nutrition, glucose, prophylaxis of pressure and gastric ulcers due to stress, intestine, head elevation, heparin, urine output, paraclinic, oxygen, rehabilitation, delirium, invasive and antimicrobial. Adhering to clinical guidelines or protocols for the use of checklists has been shown to improve the safety and efficiency of care. We offer one sandwich per day to patients.
